Oliver & Selby
This engagement story and session are so exciting! This story reminds me of many a beautiful love song! We took their engagement photos at Schiller Park and Columbus Commons and they were just the perfect fun spots for these two!
Oliver and Selby met in the fourth grade! Oliver had just moved to the Grandview Schools area where Selby was attending elementary school. The two quickly became friends and actually got married in their fourth grad school play! hehe! Even so, they stayed friends through the years. In fact, they didn’t start dating until senior year of high school.
The Proposal
Selby moved to Charleston, SC for college and the two originally planned to wait until she graduated to get engaged. But Oliver decided he couldn’t wait any longer! He drove down to Charleston to visit and asked her to go on a run with him. A popular and beautiful running trail in the area is over the Ravenel bridge. You can see all of Charleston from there. The two loved running together so it seemed like a normal fun activity for Selby! They stopped to enjoy the view and while Selby looked over the water Oliver knelt down on one knee and pulled out the ring! Selby turned around she was completely surprised! Her friends had been hiding to take pictures of this beautiful moment as she said yes to the man she loves!
They are such a fun and active couple! Besides running over the bridges of Charleston, they love finding new restaurants, watching movies, exploring new areas. They spend lots of time hiking with their dogs. I know the dogs are happy to see their parents getting married! Selby and Oliver are going to have a lifetime of fun adventures together ahead! Here are some of my favorite images from their engagement session.
If only I were in Schiller Park for you to do “engagement photos’ for me and my already married husband! You are an amazing photographer!! Keep up the great work!
Love those!
