Cortni and Darren

Nestled in the serene beauty of northeast Ohio lies Rusty River Barn, a hidden gem in the quaint town of Utica. This beautiful wedding venue has acres of rolling hills and lush fields of greenery. And it was the perfect touch for Cortni and Darren’s magical wedding day.

Among the historical charm of the restored barn, Cortni and Darren exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony, sheltered from the unexpected rain that graced their special day. The modern “glass house” provided a stunning reception space, adorned with beautiful touches of vintage charm and rustic elegance.

The Proposal

After closing on their first home together, Darren had a planned a magnificent surprise for Cortni. Once they entered into the home the heartfelt proposal came to life with rose petals and sentimental letters guiding Cortni through their brand new home, symbolized the beginning of their journey. With “their” song playing quietly in the background, Cortni followed the path of the rose petals to find hand written letters in each room of the home. Each letter explained how that room would be a staple in their future.

Last but not least was the master bedroom with a heart shape made out of rose petals. Also in the center of that heart was a display of photos of the two of them throughout their relationship. Then, that final letter, led Cortni to the front door, where Darren was waiting with their families and asked Cortni for her hand in marriage.

The Wedding Day

As soon as the rain cleared, the wedding party danced with joy atop the rolling hills, as a result it created a memorable moment against the beautiful backdrop the venue has. Additionally, we captured moments of pure love of Cortni and Darren as we ventured along the cobblestone paths and lush grassy fields for enchanting portraits. Finally, at the end of the night the gentle patter of rain came again. It set the stage for breathtaking off-camera lighting images that exuded a sense of magic and romance.

Ultimately a dreamy proposal turned into a fairytale wedding, their journey is a testament to the beauty of love, family and magical moments to last a lifetime.
