New Year’s Eve Wedding at The Westin Great Southern
Patrick and Kimberly
This New Year’s Eve Wedding at The Westin Great Southern was the years biggest celebration! Patrick and Kimberly were such a joy to spend New Year’s Eve with! Their black tie affair mixed with metallic tones was absolutely beautiful and complimented the gold tones and marble you can find throughout The Westin.
When I first arrived I had a pretty awesome secret that I shared with the bridal party. Nobody was to tell Patrick and Kimberly and you will see the photos of this surprise a little later. I was pretty ecstatic that I pulled this off!
Let me tell you, this bridal party was probably the bravest bridal party ever! The temperatures were frigid! Like five degrees was the high for the day but it felt like negative six! Yet they all joined me outside for some photos in the light snow already on the ground. Kimberly herself was the biggest and bravest of them all simply because she was completely fine with staying out longer for some beautiful portraits nearby with some green pines that had some drifts of snow on them.
The ceremony was perfect and I loved how Patrick and Kimberly incorporated their cute little pup Shelby as their ring bearer. She literally stole the show and Kimberly’s niece was so sweet making sure Shelby was calm.
The Big Surprise
So about that surprise I mentioned earlier…I decided a few weeks prior to Patrick and Kimberly’s big day that I wanted to somehow use something fun once the clock struck midnight. I did a little research and ended up going with cannon confetti poppers I had gotten from a friend. I passed them all out to the bridal party maybe five or so minutes before midnight with instructions on how to use them. The bridal party and I had this secret going all day and it was so much fun!
I then had a quick pep talk with Patrick and told him that at midnight exactly to give Kimberly the best kiss ever. We all pulled it off! The most romantic kiss at midnight under metallic confetti that exploded into the room. It was a complete surprise to them both. I just love Kimberly’s reaction when she came up from the kiss and threw her arms in the air to live in that exact moment. It was perfect! Their whole wedding day was perfect!
Ps. I even dressed up for the occasion and no I didn’t sport this New Year’s attire all day long lol
