Hoover Reservoir Engagement with Alexandra and James, was a winter wonderland of pure bliss! In the midst of an unpredictable Ohio winter, Alexandra and James embarked on a cold yet memorable engagement session. Hoover Reservoir located just north of Columbus, Ohio offers over 4,000 acres serene landscape including tall pines trees. Despite a major snowstorm and frigid temperatures, the beautiful landscape and tall pines, were covered in a fresh layer of snow and created a magical winter wonderland for their photos.

As the early March snowstorm blanketed the area with 2-6 inches of snow, Alexandra and James fearlessly braved the arctic air and gusts of wind. You’ll even see a fun blooper of them below where it looks as if they were caught in a blizzard!

The Proposal

Alexandra and James’ love story began when they were set up by two mutual friends who will be a part of their wedding party. James, known for his playful nature, always tried to convince Alexandra that an engagement wasn’t on the horizon. However, one evening, during a romantic dinner at The Boathouse, James surprised Alexandra by proposing under the twinkling lights of the Columbus skyline on the Scioto River. To her astonishment, James’ brother had flown in from Colorado to capture the magical moment.

After the proposal, the surprises continued as the two of them headed to a wine bar in Grandview. Little did Alexandra know, her fiends and family had gathered there to share in the joyous occasion. Even her best friend made the trip from Chicago to be a part of the exciting news.

Alexandra and James love to enjoy cozy dinners in bed with TV trays while binging Netflix, and James often cooks delicious meals for Alexandra and her parents. Despite his tough exterior as a former Ohio University football player, James secretly indulges in watching The Bachelor. Who doesn’t? 😉 Alexandra, on the other hand, is the handy wo(man) around the house and dreams of being a forensic scientist. Together they bring out the best in each other.

Alexandra and James’ winter engagement session was definitely a testament to their love and resilience. In spite of the winter storm and freezing temperatures, their smiles and laughter radiated.
