How they met
Two years ago Melissa started playing an interactive game that allowed you to connect with people all over the world. Teams were made up of twenty people and hundreds of teams were formed. After approximately six months of playing she created her own team and got into the top. To communicate with other players people used an app called Line. The app was merely for game chat, but she had decided to invite him into a private chat to talk game. They continued to chat and naturally became friends talking about normal everyday things in life. Eventually their chats went from minutes long to hours long, from private chats to phone calls. Will is from Canada and worked third shift at the time so Melissa would stay up countless hours to enjoy conversations and skyping with him. At one point they agreed to meet in person. So Will decided to travel all the way from Calgary (Canada) to Columbus, Ohio. When the day finally came for them to meet, Melissa was nervous and questioned everything before his plane had landed. So many “what if’s” ran through her mind. BUT what if the moment you saw him and you just knew? That is what my friend experienced. As soon as they made eye contact they were both smiling ear to ear so much that it hurt. He opened his arms and swooped her up and kissed her. At that moment, she knew. He was the one. They continued their relationship traveling back and forth from Columbus to Canada. Eventually Will decided to propose to Melissa and surprised her with a visit to the largest mall in North America for her birthday. He originally had plans to propose while seeing the Northern Lights but those plans fell through, however his proposal was accomplished.
For their engagement photos we met up at Goodale park in Columbus, Ohio and took advantage of the beautiful spring tree blossoms. Then we headed over to 16-Bit Bar and Arcade in downtown Columbus. Such a great way to incorporate how they met. Gaming. Will is a HUGE and I mean HUGE Deadpool fan. Melissa thought how it would be cool to incorporate him into their photos so she made her own comic book shoes. They couldn’t be more rad!
