Dawes Arboretum Engagement Photos
One of my favorite photography venues in Ohio is the Dawes Arboretum. When I met Ashley and Greg in the fall it was the first place I thought of for their engagement session since Dawes Arboretum is also their wedding venue. I knew the leaves would be just turning those beautiful, bright, golden colors. It started out as a rainy day but then the sun came out, the trees were stunning and Ashley and Greg looked amazing!
I took a lot of shots of them just strolling together through the park. They were so cute holding hands and smiling and it was so much fun to capture those moments. You could tell they were in love and excited!
Ashley and Greg also recreated the ‘Dirty Dancing’ log scene on this fallen tree. We all laughed and giggled, and the shots turned out great.
The arboretum was beautiful but I made sure to also get some close up portraits that were all Ashley and Greg. Ashley has the most incredible blue eyes and I couldn’t help but get some close-ups.
A Family Affair
At the end of the session Greg’s parents arrived with the couple’s son Isaac for some family shots. He was so happy to be outside and I got some really amazing family photos! What an adorable little guy!
To get these fantastic shots of the couple laying in the fall leaves I had to climb a tree. It was a little scary but well worth it! They were troopers willing to get dirty and letting me drop leaves on them. It was such a sweet and tender moment between the two of them.
Most women ask for a photo of their ring for their engagement session. It’s always fun to come up with creative ideas. We carefully placed Ashley’s on this beautiful bright leaf and I love the way the diamonds contrast with the colors. Congratulations Ashley and Greg! Can’t wait to photograph your wedding!

What beautiful pictures of Ashley & Greg (& Isaac!). You captured great shots of them. For Christmas, they wanted a large canvas print of one of the pictures with Isaac. It turned out beautifully! We can’t wait to see the wedding photos! Your photography is amazing!
Thank you Julie! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding 🙂
